HAPPY FALL

This afternoon, I decided to spend some much needed quality time with my Silhouette Cameo machine so that I can make a card for the Chemo Angel program.  Since it is the fall time of the year, I suppose it is only fitting to use a fall theme for my project.  Subsequently it was time to find some fall items in my collections of silhouette files.  Boy was I surprised at the number of files I have collected with the fall theme.  Low and behold, this cute bear sitting at the fence with a pumpkin caught my eye.

This cutie pie of a bear image consisted of several small pieces to cut; therefore, the good old scrap bin was the perfect place to get the orange, brown, and green cardstock.  Once I assembled the image, I could not resist using Creatology 8MM wiggle eyes on the bear.  Those eyes makes him even cuter don’t you think? Then I added “Happy Fall” to a print and cut shape file for my sentiment.   I nearly forgot to mention the card with the leaf overlay is also a Silhouette cut file which includes an envelope and liner.  How awesome is that?  I just love using my Cameo.

The card still seemed a little plain to me so I added some washi tape and some retired SU buttons with twine placed in the button holes.  Then I popped the sentiment and one of the acorns with foam tape.  You all know how I love adding dimension to my projects.

Well, the project didn’t stop there because I ran across an unfinished tea bag/Ghirardelli candy square holder while digging through my scraps.  Don’t ask why it was there as I haven’t a clue but that holder was at my mercy from the moment I found it until I finished embellishing it.  HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Make Your Own Envelopes

Let’s Talk Envelopes -- ENABLER ALERT!

A few weeks ago while attending a scrapbooking retreat, one of my wonderful crafting friends, Lynne Buford, showed this wonderful tool made by We R Memory Keepers™.  The name of the tool is Envelope Punch Board.

 

I made the following 4.5” x 3.5” card for a baby shower and made the perfect fit envelope for the card using the envelope punch board.    I am very much into embellishing envelopes that do not have to go postal.  J

You can literally make any size envelope for any size card using the board.  Here are two video1 / video2 to check out the board.  I chose these videos because I felt Crafttestdummies thoroughly tested the tool and provided great tips and tricks for an accurate use of the envelope punch board.  The second video is updated information on the board.

CTMH 3x3 Note Cards

This week, I made 3x3 note cards and 3” envelopes using my two favorite CTMH Cricut cartridges.  The first set of cards and envelopes was made with the Clementine Paper pack and the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I made sure that I used the paper saver and auto fill features with this project.  This helped me know that I could get four cards out of one piece of 12x12 card stock and two envelopes out of a 12x12 piece of paper.  The cards were cut at 3” and the envelopes at 3.25” with the Cricut Expression.

The Christmas 3x3 note cards were made with a combination of the Art Philosophy and Artiste cartridges.  The lovely bow is from the Artiste cartridge and all other embellishments came from the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I used cardstock and paper from another source.

 

CTMH Artiste Collection Birthday Wish

Today, I broke out my CTMH Cricut
Artiste Collection and the Clementine paper pack to make these two masculine birthday cards.   think the My Reflections Clementine paper pack is a great choice for masculine layouts and cards.  Because I did not have coordinating CTMH ribbon and buttons, I used some from another company.  The ribbon, buttons, and brown cupcake color on the second card are slightly different than the first one.  I also used my handy dandy pop dots to add some dimension on the sentiment and twilight blue cupcake and the cuttlebug floral fantacy embossing folder to sorbet cardstock.

Christmas in July with Verve

This Center Step Card was made using a retired SU Christmas paper pack which had Mellow Moss and Real Red cardstock and coordinating striped papers.  I used spellbinders dies to cut the shapes for the center of the card.  The tree is made from the Verve O Christmas Tree stamp set by stamping it with versa mark ink and adding color with PearlEx powder pigments. The sentiment on the envelope and card are also from the same stamp set.  I JUST LOVE VERVE STAMPS!

Wouldn’t you know, Verve is currently running a 20% off sale on all of their stamp sets until August 4, 2012.

I altered the card just a little so that it would fit into a 5.5”x 5.5” envelope and followed the YouTube video instructions on how to make it with my Martha Stewart scoreboard.   Essentially, you use an 8.5” x 8.5” piece of paper and score at 3 1/8” on all sided.  Oh yea, how about this wonderful tool has been in the box sitting in a corner for over 6 months.  I’m trying to do better when it comes to using what I have instead of purchasing more stuff and I am proud to report that I used things that I have on hand already and it feels GOOOOOOD. Not to mention, it feels good to my pocketbook.   Hahahahahaha

Grateful The Stampscapes Way

I made this card using stampscape stamps and a Lockhart stamp that have been put away for some years.  Then I used copics to color in everything. I had forgotten how much I liked using them.  The Copic makers just made it that much sweater.  LOL

The Stampscapes used are:  231C, 150E, 054F, and 196F. My favorite chair is a Lockhart Stamp Co. stamp.

Simple Thank You Card

This card is for a swap at the Jasper, GA retreat that I will attend from June 8 – 10, 2012.  If you are like me, you can never have enough thank you cards on hand.  I was inspired by Northridge Publishing’s Weekly Newsletter for this week.

Graducation Card 2012

This is the card I made for each of the graduates in my family this year. I used SU confetti white card stock for the card base, bazzill textured black and gold card stock, and Paper Studio Pearlized white card stock. The embellishments are from the Jolees' Boutique Graduation 3D sticker pack. The outside sentiment is from a stamp purchased from Hobby Lobby. TFL

I made this card for someone to give to a friend who is moving away. I used bright fun colors so that it would not be to soggy and sad.  The paper is from DCWV Citrus Stack and the image is Hugabella.

Scraps

If you are like me, you find yourself with more scraps of cardstock and patterned paper than you have projects to use them. I have decided to start making either 3x3 or 4x4 cards to use on gifts instead of purchasing these small cards from the store. Like I mentioned a few months ago, you may want to start making tiny embellishments such as flower pots, roses, and paper punches with your scraps to minimize your pile. Because you have endless possibilities with your tiny creations, you can save the embellishments for future layouts and cards.

Celebrate My New Copic Markers

Today, I am celebrating by using the Copic markers that I recently purchased. I found this cute little digi stamp in my collection. It was so much fun coloring her. The paper is from the DCWV Citrus paper stack. This stack is filled with lots of fun papers and they matched the Copic markers that I decided to use. The ribbon and buttons are from SU. I used the Cloud edge Corner Chomper to decorate the edges of my image as well as SU Bermuda Bay and Certainly Celery ink. Thank you for checking out my work. See you next time.

You Are Never Too Old To Learn

I decided to expand my knowledge on creating layouts and making cards by participating in the Ella Publishing Boot Camp. I must admit that I am multi-tasking this project because I am doing the boot camp and a birthday challenge using teal and red. Plus, since I just finished a Copic’s certification class, I decided to use my Copic markers. I also combined what I learned from boot camp about pattern design and photo editing tricks on this card.
The products used for this card include:
Papers: SU’s pattern paper, Taken Teal, and Real Red;
Stamps: SU Embrace Life
Inks: SU Taken Teal (sentiment), Copic Markers- R46, BG13, BG15, BG18 (flower).
Accessories: Prima Flowers and SU Rhinestone Brads.
Learning new techniques and tricks this month has been great. I am really looking forward to my next learning adventure.

A Kisa Thank You

This is a Rubbernecker.com image named Keesha. I just had to have the stamp since it is so close to my name. hahaha. I used Copics, stampin up markers, and Smooch pearlized accent inks to color my image. I colored my Prima flowers using my stampin up re-inkers and topped them off with a little stickles. The thank you sentiment is from a Stampabillities cling rubber stamp set.

Weekend Projects

This weekend, I continued experimenting with crafting tools that I have in my arsenal that have been idol every since they came into my craft room. The tools of choice this week are the Cricut Imagine and the BeJewler Pro.
My first quick project was a graduation card that I made on my Imagine using the Wrap it Up regular Cricut cartridge together with the Better Together Imagine cartridge. I made the green card stock from the color palette on the imagine cartridge. The embellishments are made from images on the Wrap It Up cartridge that were flooded with some patterns from the Better Together cartridge. Let me tell you, the possibilities are endless using the Imagine. I know some people feel this machine cost a lot of money, but hey, I feel it’s worth every penny that I spent. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I used the BeJewler Pro to add a little bling to the graduation hat.
After the quick application of the bling, I felt like experimenting a little more with the BeJewler Pro. So I decided to add a little bling to my ink pad caddy. Some of you may remember that I added my name and some roses to it a few weeks ago. Well, I step my name up a notch by blinging it out. I like using the BeJewler Pro because you don’t have to fight with glue and the bling. I may consider doing a video demoing it in the up coming weeks.

RAK_Cards

I made these cards to send with some RAKs. The stamp art is from SU's Pocket Silhouettes set. I used several different punches to embellish my card which consisted of SU's scalloped oval, small oval, large oval, round corner punch, and/or ticket corner and a Fiskar's edge punch. The designer paper was from a Martha Stewart's 12x12 playful blue paper pad. The solid cardstock is from Hobby Lobby.

The layout is one that I found on another forum. As you can see, I decided to play around with different elements on the layout to see which one I like the best but I cannot decide which one I like the most.

this card was made with DCWV's Linen Closet mat stack. The butterfly, scalloped circle, and circle are all Stampin Up punches. I embellished the corners with round top eyelets from eyelet.com. Thanks for looking.
