☺☺Hello everyone.

I know that it's been a while since I made any post.  Life was happening all around me but I'm ready to get back in the game.

HAPPY FALL

This afternoon, I decided to spend some much needed quality time with my Silhouette Cameo machine so that I can make a card for the Chemo Angel program.  Since it is the fall time of the year, I suppose it is only fitting to use a fall theme for my project.  Subsequently it was time to find some fall items in my collections of silhouette files.  Boy was I surprised at the number of files I have collected with the fall theme.  Low and behold, this cute bear sitting at the fence with a pumpkin caught my eye.

This cutie pie of a bear image consisted of several small pieces to cut; therefore, the good old scrap bin was the perfect place to get the orange, brown, and green cardstock.  Once I assembled the image, I could not resist using Creatology 8MM wiggle eyes on the bear.  Those eyes makes him even cuter don’t you think? Then I added “Happy Fall” to a print and cut shape file for my sentiment.   I nearly forgot to mention the card with the leaf overlay is also a Silhouette cut file which includes an envelope and liner.  How awesome is that?  I just love using my Cameo.

The card still seemed a little plain to me so I added some washi tape and some retired SU buttons with twine placed in the button holes.  Then I popped the sentiment and one of the acorns with foam tape.  You all know how I love adding dimension to my projects.

Well, the project didn’t stop there because I ran across an unfinished tea bag/Ghirardelli candy square holder while digging through my scraps.  Don’t ask why it was there as I haven’t a clue but that holder was at my mercy from the moment I found it until I finished embellishing it.  HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I hope you enjoy seeing this project just as much as I enjoyed making it.  Thank you for stopping by my blog and have a HAPPY FALL YA’LL!

A Copic Thank You

Today I decided to break out the Copic markers and do some coloring.  I wanted to make something quick and simple so here is what I came up with.  A nice cling rubber stamp by Hero Arts was used to start the project.  The image was stamped on express it card stock with memento black tuxedo ink and colored with Copic markers in the red, yellow, green and yellow green family.  Afterwards, the image was fussy cut and foam tape mounted on a 3.25” x 3.50” plan white card stock.  I finalized the image by putting Inkssentials glossy accents was on the center of the flowers and black dots to give the image a little texture.  TFL

Make Your Own Envelopes

Let’s Talk Envelopes -- ENABLER ALERT!

A few weeks ago while attending a scrapbooking retreat, one of my wonderful crafting friends, Lynne Buford, showed this wonderful tool made by We R Memory Keepers™.  The name of the tool is Envelope Punch Board.

I made the following 4.5” x 3.5” card for a baby shower and made the perfect fit envelope for the card using the envelope punch board.    I am very much into embellishing envelopes that do not have to go postal.  J

You can literally make any size envelope for any size card using the board.  Here are two video1 / video2 to check out the board.  I chose these videos because I felt Crafttestdummies thoroughly tested the tool and provided great tips and tricks for an accurate use of the envelope punch board.  The second video is updated information on the board.

If you think you may want to purchase one, just Google envelope punch board and go with a vendor of your choice.

Thanks for stopping by to check me out.

Have a creatively crafty day.

Altered Composition Book

                                            ALTERED COMPOSITION NOTEBOOK

The following is a list of supplies I used; however, you should use whatever supplies you have on hand or ones you are comfortable using.

Paper: White and black cardstock of your choice.

Ink: Ranger Dylusions ink spray, Perfect Peals mist spray, Krylon gold leafing pen, Viva pearl pens, Stazon ink pad, Memento ink pad, Sharpie brush marker, Smooch pearlized accent Ink, Stampin Up all-purpose Ink;

Adhesives:  YES Glue (Can be found at Michaels), Redline Tape adhesive, foam tape, ATC;

Punches:  1” circle punch, large hole punch, corner rounder, Stampin Up slant punch, Flower Soft glue;

Miscellaneous:  Paper towels, cardboard box top large enough to catch extra spray mist, water in small mister bottle, Flower Soft,  bling, glitter, 1” paint brush to apply YES paste, white prima flowers, Ranger white crinkle ribbon, embossing folders, embossing machine, sticky-back canvas, assorted rubber stamps, and heat gun.

 STEP 1:

Cut white cardstock to cover book at 6 2/3” x 9 2/3”.  Lightly mist one side of cardstock with water and turn paper over.  Use dylusions ink sprays of your choice to color the facing side of card stock.  Use paper towels to blot off excess color as needed and when you are satisfied with your color combinations.  Lightly mist with Perfect Pearls mist.  Blot dry with paper towel and lay it to the side.

Let’s talk about the sticky-back canvas.  I am not sure how many different types of sticky-back canvas are available, but most people use the Claudine Hellmuth Studio Sticky-Back Canvas for their projects.  Cut the canvas to the size of your choice and cut a piece of black card stock ¼” longer on all four sides.  Spray the canvas side with the colors of your choice.  Make sure you blot off excess inks when necessary and when you have the canvas colored to your satisfaction.

Use a heat gun to completely dry the colored cardstock and canvas.  Be careful not to burn the paper or canvas while drying them.

STEP 2

Use an embossing folder and machine of your choice to emboss your canvas.  Use an accent ink of your choice to lightly rub across the canvas to high light the raised image.

Use a paint brush to apply YES paste to inked cardstock.  This glue is used by book binding companies.  Make sure to apply enough glue to all the edges of your cardstock.  HINT:  I use an old telephone book to place my paper and/or cardstock on and apply the glue.  Turn the page in the book as needed to brush on adhesive to additional paper and/or cardstock.  Apply inked cardstock to book.

I like this glue because it allows plenty of time to move the paper and/or cardstock in the right spot on the book.  Also, this glue easily washes off hands and the paint brush with soap and warm water.

The down side of using YES paste is you have to mix it in a container with water.  You should put a small amount of glue in a bowl with a lid that is deeper enough to mix it the water and glue.  You should start with about two tablespoons of glue with about 2 ounces of hot water. It’s easier to add more hot water than starting out with too much water.  The glue should be about the same consistency as regular Elmer’s glue.

STEP 3

Now it’s time to embellish the front of the book using any and every thing you like.  I used the same inking technique as the cardstock and canvas to color the prima flowers and crinkle ribbon.  Once the book is finished, place under a heavy stack of books for 24 – 48 hours because this will decrease the amount the cover curls.

NOW IT’S YOUR TURN.

Getting Ready for 2013

This is my last blog post until after the holidays.  These little cuties were made for a New Year die swap.  I used CTMH Artiste Cricut cartridge to cut the banner and numbers.  The sparkling cider element was made from a rubber stamp that I purchased at Rubber Stamp Fantasy store in Marietta, GA this past Friday.  The store owners, Debbie and Gary, are great people.  They showed our group several techniques that I have started using when I craft.
I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

2012 Christmas Tags

These tags are for a Christmas tag swap that I am getting in the mail tomorrow.  Thank you Meka from ModgePodge for hosting this wonderful swap.  The poinsettias are made from a Verve stamp set and colored with SU's real red pen and gold embossing powder..  Then I cut them out and added a few leaves cut with a McGill punch.  The red tag base was embossed using the Cuttlebug swirl folder.  I used the SU corner rounder and slant punch to make the shape of my tag.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful crafty week.

Wreath Ornaments 2012

These wreath ornaments were made using Paper Studio gold pearlized cardstock and the wreath on page 43 of the Potpourri Basket Cricut Cartridge.  I cut the wreath at 2.5” and used CTMH Almond Glitz Glitter Gel, hotfix topaz bling, and HL Christmas 2012 ribbon to embellish them.

Christmas Wreath Card 2012

This card was made using the wreath on page 43 of the Potpourri Basket Cricut Cartridge.  I cut the wreath at 2.5” and used CTMH Almond Glitz Glitter Gel, hotfix topaz bling, and HL Christmas 2012 ribbon to embellish the wreath.
I set my paper us as an Avery 3268 Note Card, Landscape; then printed the inside sentiment using the following RGB code:  R=224 G=179 and B=0.
The front of the card was made using my altered wreath listed above, more HL Christmas 2012 ribbon, and Mary Christmas Stamp from CTMH’s C1525 Pear & Partridge stamp set that comes with the G1052 Pear and Partridge Workshop on the Go on page 65 of the Autumn/Winter 2012 Idea Book & Catalog.
I hope you all stay blessed throughout this season of our Lord.

Thanksgiving Card Using 3 ply decorative napkin.

Weekend Crop Cards

This was a great weekend.  I spent time hanging out with some of my wonderful crafting buddies.  I even managed to get my cards done for a sympathy card swap using a technique with 3 ply napkins that my friend Mazie showed us.

The first set of cards was made with napkins and organza I from Hobby Lobby.  Of course you know they were on sale.  LOL  However, any 3 ply napkin with a great design pattern will do. You may email me for the instruction if you like.

The next set of cards was made with CTMH’s Pear and Partridge Card Kit on Page 66 of the Fall and Winter 2012 Idea Book.  Card 1 of this kit was my favorite as you can see.  I plan to make this my card for the year.

Well that’s all for now.  Thank you for stopping by to check me out.

Rolo Pencil

Most people make these as teacher’s gifts.  As you can see, I made a regular color pencil and Halloween themed ones. I plan to give these babies out at my Crop in October.  The Rollo pencil is pretty easy to make; therefore I don’t think you will have any problems using these instructions even though a picture illustrations is not included.  Should you run into problems, you may check out this Youtube video by Scrappin with My Bug.

The following items are needed for each pencil:

·       3 ½” x 4 ¾” Cardstock or design paper (use yellow cardstock or paper for regular pencil)

·       3 ½” x ½” Cardstock for body of the eraser (use pink for regular pencil eraser)

·       7/8” cardstock circle for the eraser head.  (use pink for regular pencil eraser)

7/8” is equivalent to .875” if you decide to you your Gypsy to layout your cuts to use  your Cricut machine or you can use a nickel to draw your circle and cut it out with scissors.

·       3 ½” length of metallic ribbon or aluminum foil.

·       Zig zag scissors

·       Paper crimper or score tool

·       Adhesive of your choice

·       1 Role of Rolo

·       1 Hershey Kiss

First, take your cardstock and put the 4 ¾” side into the crimper and crimp.  If you do not have a crimper, you can score the cardstock at every ¼” until it is fully scored from end to end.  You may also crimp or score your metallic ribbon.

Next, trim one of the 3 ½” ends of the cardstock  with zig zag scissors.

Apply adhesive to the cardstock and roll it around the Rolo keeping the zig zag closed to the edge of the Rolo.  You will have some of the Rolo showing on the other end.  Wrap and adhere the 3 ½” x ½” cardstock around the end of the Rolo that is still showing to make the side of the eraser.

Next, cover and adhere that same end with the 7/8” circle to complete the eraser.  Wrap and adhere the ribbon just under the eraser.

Lastly, adhere the Hershey Kiss to the other end and cut off the white kiss tag if it is show.  As you can see, I forgot to do that part before I took the picture.  LOL

I hope you find these instructions useful.  Happy crafting until next time.

CTMH Coffin Treat Boxes

The new CTMH Cricut cartridge is very addictive.  I just can’t seem to put it away.  Hahahahaha.  This weekend I used it to make these coffin treat boxes.  The cutting measurements are as follows:
Coffin Box = 7.5"
Spider Web = 2.5"
RIP = 2.0"
Black Strip = 11" x 1/2"
Skeleton = 4.5

These fun boxes makes great party favors for those who like to throw a party for Halloween.  I would not recommend giving them out to the trick or treaters unless you cut the box smaller because this size holds a great deal of candy.

Now it’s your turn to try them.

Leilani's Digital Layouts

This has been a crafting filled weekend for me.  I wanted to get a layout or two done today; but, I did not feel like pulling out supplies today.  What must a girl do?  J  I know, break out the digital elements on the old laptop.

The first page is of my new grandniece Ms. Leilani Amaya Lee.  The second page is of her with her proud parents and Gmoma.  Of course my sister says she is too young to be called grandmother.  Hahahahahaha

Even though I completed this project last, I decided to post it first because the next two posts will include information on how to do the projects.

Thank you for stopping by to check me out.

3x3 Note Card Holder

My last post for the week is of these card holders I made for the 3x3 note cards that was previously posted.  Thank you Del Bucher for giving me this idea.  These little cuties are made from the magazine die cut on page 47 on the CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge.  Both pieces are cut at 4.25”.  I continued to use the CTMH Clementine card stock and elements to decorate two of the holders and regular Bazzill paper and stickers for the blue box.

CTMH 3x3 Note Cards

This week, I made 3x3 note cards and 3” envelopes using my two favorite CTMH Cricut cartridges.  The first set of cards and envelopes was made with the Clementine Paper pack and the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I made sure that I used the paper saver and auto fill features with this project.  This helped me know that I could get four cards out of one piece of 12x12 card stock and two envelopes out of a 12x12 piece of paper.  The cards were cut at 3” and the envelopes at 3.25” with the Cricut Expression.
The Christmas 3x3 note cards were made with a combination of the Art Philosophy and Artiste cartridges.  The lovely bow is from the Artiste cartridge and all other embellishments came from the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I used cardstock and paper from another source.

CTMH Artiste Collection Birthday Wish

Today, I broke out my CTMH Cricut
Artiste Collection and the Clementine paper pack to make these two masculine birthday cards.   think the My Reflections Clementine paper pack is a great choice for masculine layouts and cards.  Because I did not have coordinating CTMH ribbon and buttons, I used some from another company.  The ribbon, buttons, and brown cupcake color on the second card are slightly different than the first one.  I also used my handy dandy pop dots to add some dimension on the sentiment and twilight blue cupcake and the cuttlebug floral fantacy embossing folder to sorbet cardstock.

Thank you for checking me out.

Jumbo Gem Clip Book Marks

I finally finished making the bookmarks for the crop in October.  You can find the tutorial for the gem clips at Jumbo Paperclip Tutorial on YouTube.  Instead of using store bought bling as an embellishment, I decided to make my own dew drops using hot glue and alcohol re-inks for these cuties.  You can find the tutorial on how to make the dew drops on the Frugal Crafter’s blog.
Thanks for stopping by to check me out.
